Today in History...

On October 21, 1921, George Melford’s silent film THE SHEIK premiered, starring Rudolph Valentino.

Valentino also played a Count in THE MARRIED VIRGIN (1918), a Duke in MONSIEUR BEAUCAIRE (1924), and a Lieutenant in THE EAGLE (1925). Premiere.com ranks him #4 of 100 Sexiest Movie Stars of All Time.

“No matter what he was doing, he reeked of sex. His heavy-lidded looks were pure come-hither. And, when he died...thousands upon thousands of people attended his bi-coastal funerals, most of them hysterical, inconsolable women.”

The other male ahead of Valentino, at #2, is Marlon Brando.

What do you think? Does Premiere.com have it right?
