Here at Avon, we know how much you like historical romances. Lately, we've been hearing how much you like paranormal romances, especially vampires.

Well, Kathryn Smith has them both. NIGHT OF THE HUNTRESS, the second in the Brotherhood of the Vampire series, is in bookstores now, so make sure you run out and get your copy.

I'm curious: every author has their own myth about vampires--where they came from, whether they're alive, dead, or somewhere inbetween. In Kathryn's series, her vampires are cursed men who drank from what they thought was the Holy Grail. What are some of your favorite myths?

Oh, nice cover. What is the first book in the series? I like to read in order.

I like Vampire stories, because there is so much that the author can do with them. There are no set rules for a world with Vampires, so all the author needs is a great imagination.

One of my favourites is where Vampires could only get a woman pregnant if she is his life mate.

Another I like is the mind speak. I wish I could do that. I'd love to be able to yell at my husband in front of people, lol.

ROFL, Chantal. Love the husband comment. One of the things I'm drawn to with a vampire or shapeshifter romance is the Alpha male. Especially the dark, dangerous ones. *Sigh* They fall so hard. I also love the whole, you-are-my-mate thing. Oh! And it's even better when the heroine tells him to think again. Those are so much fun to read.

I guess I like the strong female as much as the alpha male, paranormal or not. I mean, someone has to put him in his place. Right? *bg* or should that be *eg* Muahahaha Muahahah Muahahaha!

Chantal, isn't that cover gorgeous! The model, Erik Nelson has been at some signings with me lately and he's as pretty inside as he is out. Just a real doll.

The first book in this series is Be Mine Tonight. It has a lovely cover too. :-)

Thanks Kathryn. I'm a tad anal about reading series books in order.
I love a good Vampire book!

Sandra, I enjoy an alpha male, too. Throw me over your shoulder and carry me to the bedroom, baby.

I just have to say how much I love this book...and this series! BE MINE TONIGHT was my favorite read from 2006, and I'm sure that this year will be a tie between NIGHT OF THE HUNTRESS and TAKEN BY THE NIGHT, the next book in the series (November). I just love Kathryn Smith's vampires! :)

In a YA series I read years ago by L.J. Smith called The Vampire Diaries, she had the vampires able to live in sunlight provided they wore a ring of lapis lazuli. I always thought that added an interesting dimension.
