Who can resist? Here's a fun fact: editor Lucia has a bona fide New Orleans voodoo doll that she keeps atop her computer. He (it?) has managed to (mostly) keep her computer safe and sound. Truth to tell, it scares her a little, but there's no giving it away now.

I had one for years but then my six year old neice "borrowed" him. Hopefully she's not sticking pins into him!

But now I have several talismans who have taken his place: a stone Buddha who sits calmly and elegantly on the corner of my desk, a Native American storyteller I found on the day I decided to become a writer, and a U.S. Naval WASP officers pin from WWII.

Mary C. who every time she sees the couple kissing under the streetlamp thinks they should get a room!

Anna if you're out there, I bought the soundtrack to The Ghost and Mrs. Muir! It's so beautiful to write to!

THanks for the suggestion.

Mary
