Who do you think wears the pants in Brangelina's relationship? I say that it's obvious that Angelina Jolie rules the roost in this United Colors of Benetton family. Is it the female fantasy to be in more control of a relationship, to have more power over the man? Are we seeing this in romances now?

Hmmmm...interesting. I'd agree that Angelina is in charge. As far as woman in charge being a new fantasy, I don't know. It's not really a fantasy of mine, unless we're just talking bedroom stuff here. ;-) I prefer the equal partner fantasy, where the men know how to vaccum and do dishes. And I think so many of us women have a lot of control in our homes that the dominance (calgon, take me away) fantasy is still pretty strong.

Uh, yeah. I totally agree with you ladies on this one. My respect for Brad went from Hero to Zero when he left Jen. Not only because he got divorced, but also (and mostly) because it was so obviously a decision made with a certain not-his-brain part of his anatomy. I mean, he couldn't even make it look like he had any other reason! Very not cool.
So as that applies to the romance genre, no, I don't think we're going to see a lot of this in women's fantasy. A man should be strong and sexy and decisive--I'm not sure exactly how that follows but I'll step off my box now!

'Women in charge' might not be the norm, but the idea obviously appeals to some women - why else have kick-ass heroines become so popular? Angelina has never been a wilting flower, and I think Brad knew full well what he was letting himself in for.
Personally, I think as long as Brad and Angelina are happy in their relationship, more power to 'em. :) If one of the sexiest men in the world loves someone enough to let himself be perceived as a wimp... well, that's kinda romantic in itself.
Now, if Angelina starts leading Brad around in public on a leash, I'll be changing my opinion to 'Eewwwww'. :)
