Notes from the Teresa Medeiros (SOME LIKE IT WICKED) and Suzanne Enoch (BEFORE THE SCANDAL) road trip!
So far, everything has gone swimmingly. (Except for the fact that some of our escorts have had trouble getting our luggage in their cars.) We signed several books there and Mary (the store rep) assured us she had already sold close to 100 books before we arrived.
The signings at the Clark County Library in Vegas and the one last night at the Borders in Beaverton were VERY productive. (Amazing advance publicity from Suzanne Scott at the Clark County Library and amazing support from Marcy Dodge at Borders and her romance reading group!)
We had good crowds, intelligent questions, and a lot of books signed and sold. I think we always do better when we can speak first because it establishes a rapport with the audience.
And Suzie E. and I have quickly discovered that we have amazing chemistry and are riffing like Abbott and Costello while up there on stage. :) I didn't know Suzie that well before the tour started, but I've quickly come to adore her. (She even ran over to the Star Trek Experience with me in Vegas and rode the Borg Queen ride.
:))
The Paris hotel in Vegas was astounding! 50 inch TV's in every room. For breakfast, I had a crepe and won $19.50 in the nickel slot machine. (Hey, what can I say? I'm a morning person. I have to do most of my gambling before 8 a.m!) We threatened to abandon the tour there and just stay in Vegas forever but figured you'd hate to have to put our pics on the side of a milk carton.
Well, we're off to a TV appearance this morning and then back to California for our last signing in Orange County, CA . I'll send some pics as soon as I get home! My favorite one so far is me and Suzie sitting on the floor at the airport wolfing down burgers and fries from McDonald's--Ah, the glamorous life of the romance author on tour! :)
Warmest,
Teresa, from somewhere in Portland

I totally LOVE Teresa's books! I didn't know she had a new one out. Will be at the bookstore to pick it up as soon as I can. She is one of my favourite favourites. I'm excited to know she has a new one. :)

The best part was when Suzie got "probed" during the Borg Queen ride. Guess I should have warned her about that. She squealed pretty loud! :)

Yes, I squealed - but that doesn't mean I didn't like it. *g*
