At the end of 2008, we ran a contest to find a cover model for Carol Alt's new book, MODEL, INCORPORATED. Hundreds of young women entered, and a panel of judges--including Carol, her editor, and the art director--narrowed the pool down to four finalists.

Yes, that is Rianna on the cover of MODEL, INCORPORATED. The photo shoot was an absolute blast. I had a great time and, never having been to a cover shoot before, it was absolutely fascinating to see how it all comes together. Just one more fascinating step in the long journey from manuscript to book.
